A short privacy note

Email subscriptions

If you sign up, this website stores your email address, subscription status, confirmation time, and delivery records privately. You must confirm by email before receiving weekly issue announcements. Fastmail delivers the messages. Unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email; no account or password is required.

An unsubscribe or suppression record is retained so we can honor your choice. Signup protection stores temporary hashed network counters, not your browsing history. Subscriber data is included in protected site backups.

Letters

A letter is a private conversation. It will only be excerpted with your permission for the text and attribution and Jonathan's editorial approval. Email addresses are never published. Letters do not create newsletter subscriptions.

Site use

No advertising trackers or public visitor accounts. Essential cookies protect forms and the private publishing desk. Ordinary server logs may include technical request information.

For privacy questions or a request to remove subscription data, write to Jonathan.
